Representatives of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA) met with representatives of the Višegrad Municipality, the Head of the Department for Economy, Local Development and Social Activities, Milan Tasić, and the Coordinator of the Development Management Unit, Radmila Mihajlović.
During the
meeting, they discussed the economic potential of the municipality of Višegrad,
and the vision of its development. In the city on the Drina, much is expected
from the construction of the highway. Thanks to this road communication, they
believe that they will attract new investors ready to invest in Višegrad.
It was agreed to present new investment projects and locations to potential foreign investors through FIPA.
During the meeting, they emphasized the exceptional importance of existing foreign investors for their Municipality, such as the company "Zlatar šped" from Nova Varoš for wood processing, which started operations in Dobrun near Viešgrad in 2017, as well as the textile plant "Iv kom".
Despite the incentives for employment, they pointed out the lack of labour force as the main obstacle to foreign investment due to the departure of the population abroad.
