The meeting focused on strengthening economic cooperation with the diaspora, attracting new investments, and fostering stronger links between companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and successful entrepreneurs and businesspeople of Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin.
Meho Kapo, who has been active in Sweden for many years, is recognized as a prominent member of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora and a strong advocate for greater diaspora engagement in the economic, cultural, and social development of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is particularly known for his involvement in organizations and initiatives aimed at building networks within the Bosnian-Herzegovinian community in Sweden and strengthening ties between the diaspora and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the diaspora represents one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s most significant development assets. In addition to direct investments, members of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora bring international business experience, professional expertise, access to new markets, and valuable business contacts that can contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic economy.
The participants agreed that efforts to establish more effective mechanisms for cooperation among institutions, diaspora businesspeople, and the domestic business community should continue. Particular emphasis was placed on promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina’s investment potential, identifying concrete investment projects, and strengthening business networks that can contribute to attracting new investments and creating jobs.
The FIPA representative emphasized the Agency’s commitment to serving as a reliable partner to diaspora investors by providing information, support, and institutional assistance throughout the implementation of investment projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to continued cooperation aimed at strengthening economic ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and its diaspora, which serves as an important bridge between the domestic economy and global markets.
The diaspora is not only a strong emotional connection to the homeland, but also a valuable resource for economic development. Through investments, knowledge, innovation, and international business networks, the diaspora can make a significant contribution to the sustainable economic growth of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
