THE ITALIAN GOVERNEMENT WILL PROVIDE FINANCIAL STRUCTURE FOR THE PROJECT "SREDNJA DRINA"

After his visit to Rome, where he met with the Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, the President of RS, Milorad Dodik, said that the Italian Government shall provide the financial structure for the project of construction of the hydropower system "Srednja Drina", which includes Republika Srpska, Italy and Serbia. They will form a joint enterprise and RS will be a part owner, with the obligation to provide the necessary logistics. 

After his visit to Rome, where he met with the Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, the President of RS, Milorad Dodik, said that the Italian Government shall provide the financial structure for the project of construction of the hydropower system "Srednja Drina", which includes Republika Srpska, Italy and Serbia. They will form a joint enterprise and RS will be a part owner, with the obligation to provide the necessary logistics.

The project "Srednja Drina" means the construction of a hydropower system, which should begin in two years and the investment value is estimated at 830 million EUR.

The proposed technical solution to “Srednja Drina” includes construction of three hydroelectric power plants in the cascade - Dubravica, Tegare and Rogacic, with the total installed power of 321.45 MW with average annual electricity production of about 1.200 gig watt/hours.

The RS Elektroprivreda and Elektroprivreda of Serbia power companies signed an agreement on oint feasibility studies for "Srednja Drina" in September 2010, after which a preliminary agreement on cooperation in the project was made between Serbia and the Italian company Energy Seca.
