After the increase in foreign investments in the first quarter of 2017, the increasing trend continued in the second quarter, reaching the amount of 386.7 million BAM or 197.7 million EUR (with estimated retained earnings), which is a significant progress from the previous years when we recorded a decline of foreign investments.

These data confirm that, in spite of the difficulties faced by investors when it comes to the business environment in BiH, constant work on finding new investors, promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina as an interesting destination for foreign investments abroad, and regular meetings that FIPA has with foreign investors, bring positive results.

The most important effects of foreign investment are reflected in the employment of our citizens in the situation when we have about 25% of the unemployed people, according to the BiH Statistics Agency, and other effects that contribute to the economic development of the country.

The increase in investments additionally obliges all competent authorities of BiH to continue working on improving conditions for business for both domestic and foreign investors, on stabilizing the country's political situation as the basic precondition for attracting foreign investments, implementing the necessary reforms, and coordinating participation of competent institutions on attracting foreign investments, led by FIPA as a coordinator of activities.
