The Slovenian company Iskra has announced a strong investment cycle in 2023. The company will also have new investments and jobs in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

For now, the Iskra Group is the owner of two large production companies whose expected total revenue in 2022 is around 280 million EUR, so it will continue with new investments in 2023. Investments in the project to build a new factory on a construction plot of 25,000 square meters have begun in Bosnia and Herzegovina, within which a new hall of 15,000 m2 will be built. It is also planned to employ 500 workers, while 100 people are already working in an Iskra plant in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With the implementation of the project, the number of employees in the Iskra Group will increase by 30%.

Iskra invests in a location owned by the Group in Laktaši, also known as a thermal spa in the north-western part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and announces that in 2024 it is planned to open the factory and begin work. The investment in Laktaši is estimated at 15 million EUR, and the Slovenian Group will expand its production activities in its electrical business, with the aim to optimize business costs.

Coming to BiH is also justified if you take into account the price of electricity, lower labour costs and the fact that the taxation rate is lower compared to Slovenia.

Thus, the profit tax in Bosnia and Herzegovina amounts to 10%, while in Slovenia it is 19%.
