HERZEGOVINA AMONG EUROPEAN REGIONS OF FUTURE 2014/2015

fDI Magazine every second year announces a competition for the selection of a European city and region of the future, in the context of attracting foreign investment.
This year, fDI Magazine proclaimed London city of the future , and North Rhine - Westphalia in Germany, region of the future.
REDAH submitted Herzegovina as a promising region for investment and presented all the features and tools that are available to interested investors in Herzegovina, which was recognized by the six experts who worked on the selection and ranking the cities and regions of the future.
To be short-listed by fDI "European cities and regions of the future for 2014/15", applied a total of 468 cities and regions within six categories: economic potential, favorable working environment, cost effectiveness, infrastructure and favorable business environment, and strategy for foreign investment (fDI Strategy).
fDI Magazine Editor in Chief Courtney Fingar, said that these are challenging times for direct investments in Europe.
"With slow growth in many major economies, as well as the effects of last year's European crisis, inflows into the region have declined. Therefore for European cities and regions crucial is proactive attitude towards the promotion of foreign investment, in order to show that their environment for investment is competitive. Our ranking recognizes places that are doing just that, and highlights the relative advantages of cities and regions of all sizes across Europe", added Fingar.
Director of REDAH Ivan Jurilj, stressed that attracting and support to foreign and domestic investments, and export of domestic products on world markets, is the only way to get new jobs and make Herzegovina better place to live and work.
"In this regard, some of the key activities carried out by REDAH are developing and promoting a favorable business environment, and in this regard to promote Herzegovina as a promising region for investment. With this recognition, Herzegovina shown to be among the best and to have the power to be competitive region, which is recognized by experts from fDI magazine", Jurilj said.
Therefore, recognition of Herzegovina as a region of future, will contribute to creating a positive image of Herzegovina in the world, and certainly will help the private sector in Herzegovina, which exports its products, to be easier and better position in the market.
"However, this is commit us all in Herzegovina at all levels and the municipal and cantonal, not only in REDAH, to do more and better, and to accelerate economic growth and development, and that in near future, Herzegovina to be the best region in Europe", added Jurilj.
Director of REDAH joined today in Cannes, France, European mayors, dignitaries and experts from economic development organizations and industry, at the ceremony where the most successful cities / locations of Europe, were proclaimed, during which he received the certificate for Herzegovina, one of the regions of the future for 2014/2015.
