During an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA) led by the Director Marko Kubatlija, had a meeting with the Director of the Dubai World Trade Centre Shabab Al Mur and his associate Bob Malhotra. 

He introduced the interlocutors to the services that FIPA offers to foreign investors through all phases of investment, the most attractive sectors for investing, and presented projects from the project database of FIPA. He pointed out that the UAE is at the 12th position among countries of foreign investors, with BAM 491 million invested so far. Investments were made in the food production, banking, real estate and tourism sectors.

The Director Al Mur talked about the future development plan of the UAE with a focus on the sectors of food production, tourism, and medical development.

They discussed the possibilities for organizing a business forum in the UAE, where the potential of Bosnia and Herzegovina as an interesting investment destination would be presented, with a special focus on the food and construction sectors.

At the meeting with the director of Matiya Investment Group, PhD Juma Madani, and the Deputy Director Munira Yousuf Ahmad Hassan Alblooshi, the Director Kubatlia presented the services and activities of FIPA, as well as attractive sectors for investing in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They discussed the Al Matiya Investment and Business Forum, which will be held on February 7-8, 2025 in Dubai, as well as the possibility for jointly organizing such a forum in BiH in September, where FIPA would present the potential of Bosnia and Herzegovina to businesspeople from the UAE.

During the meeting with AIM Congress director Walid Farghal and Portfolio Director Irene Obarra, they discussed the upcoming investment meeting - Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), which will be held from April 7-9, 2025, and FIPA's participation at this economic event.

The procedure to harmonize the text of the Memorandum on Cooperation is underway, which will be signed between FIPA and AIM Congress on that occasion, and which will be the basis for a further cooperation between the two institutions.

In April 2019, at the Annual Investment Meeting in Dubai, the Al Shiddi company from Saudi Arabia and FIPA received awards for the successful implementation of investments. Al Shiddi Trading was declared the best investor with the Swissotel project in Sarajevo, and FIPA was declared the best Agency for attracting foreign investments for the area of ​​Central and Eastern Europe.

At the meeting with the Ambassador of BiH to the UAE, Bojan Đokić, they discussed the possibilities for improving economic cooperation between the two countries, with a focus on investments in the sectors of tourism and food production, as well as the organization of business meetings to promote investment opportunities.
