According to the official data of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, direct foreign investments in 2021 in Bosnia and Herzegovina amount to 971.2 million BAM or 496.6 million EUR and are higher than the previous year by 32%. Last year's amount of direct foreign investments in BiH was the highest since 2009 in the previous thirteen years.

The countries that invested the most in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2021 were Switzerland, Turkey and Great Britain. Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Germany, Slovenia and Italy registered significant capital increases in 2021 in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Given that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a negative impact on investments all over the world, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, the increase in investments in the past year has shown that the crisis can also be an opportunity.

In accordance with its competences, FIPA works intensively on finding new investors for BiH, including other daily activities of informing business communities abroad about investment opportunities and available investment projects in BiH.
