Forth International Investment Conference - Sarajevo Business Forum (SBF) - "Models of growth and lessons for Southeast Europe" was held on 17th May 2013.
Amer Bukvic, Director of Sarajevo Business Forum and CEO of BBI, opened the Forum, saying that this is the best manner to attract foreign investors.
"Experiences of Malaysia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Slovenia are each specific themselves but somehow common for our country. We hope that we can benefit from their elaborations in one or another way, and that we will go out of this conference with new ideas. I am happy to see Sarajevo in the spotlight once again.", said Amer Bukvic, the CEO of BBI.
Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Ali Babacan, Former Prime Minister of Malaysia and World renowned expert in the field of economy, Mohammed Mahathir, Former President of Slovenia, Danilo Turk, and numerous businessmen from all around the World, participated at Sarajevo Business Forum, organised by Bosna Bank International and Islamic Development Bank (IDB).
Former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mohammed Mahathir, presented models of growth and development of Malaysia and participated in the panel discussion about the development potentials of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
Ali Babacan, Deputy of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, presented a vision of success and rapid growth of Turkey and Danilo Turk, Former President of Slovenia, talked about the transition experiences of Slovenia and its entrance in the European Union.
World renowned experts, representatives of the institutional investors in the sectors of agriculture, infrastructure, energy and tourism, presented the best international practices, as well as the best ways to develop a potential of a country.
During the conference, as in previous years, interested entrepreneurs had the opportunity for B2B meetings. Second day of the conference was scheduled for foreign investors visiting manufacturing facilities of domestic producers.
Previous three conferences, which the media has dubbed "the most important economic event in modern Bosnia," were attended by more than 1,300 investors from the Gulf, Europe, Asia and America, which are represented in various fields. Some of the proponents of these projects have come through to investors and their ideas used to enhance their business cooperation with foreign markets.
