Director of FIPA at a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The FIPA Director Milica Marković met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in BiH Damjan Sedar to discuss future activities related to the support of existing Slovenian investors in BiH and the attraction of new ones.
In the period until 31 December 2021, the Republic of Slovenia invested a total of 644.1 million EUR or 7.7% of the total direct foreign investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to the amount of investments, the Republic of Slovenia is at 4th place on the list of countries with the most significant investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2021.
During the meeting, Director Marković expressed her gratitude to Slovenia for the support it provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its EU path, especially to the recently held meeting of the political leaders of the EU and the Western Balkans in Brdo castle near Kranj, where the unequivocal support for the European perspective of the Western Balkans was confirmed, as support for the Slovenian investments in BiH.
The interlocutors assessed that there is additional scope for intensifying cooperation, taking into account the good bilateral relations of the two countries in the political, economic and cultural sense, emphasizing the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Slovenia have signed the "Agreement on the Avoidance of Double Taxation", as well as the "Agreement on Protection and Investment Promotion".
They also discussed the activities of the newly founded Slovenian Association of Businesspeople in Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose co-founders are NLB Banka d.d., Sarajevo, Triglav osiguranje d.d., Sarajevo, Triglav osiguranje a.d., Banja Luka, Petrol BH Oil Company d.o.o., Sarajevo and MIBO komunikacije d.o.o. Sarajevo.
The primary goal of the Association is improving economic relations and promoting economic cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Slovenia, along with efforts to integrate and develop the economy of BiH in a regional and general sense and finding potential solutions to problems arising from business cooperation between members of the Association.
