Arcelormittal Zenica among 16 most socially responsible companies in BiH

At the award ceremony "GOOD Philanthropy 2014," held on 28 October at the Sarajevo Vijecnica, the most socially responsible companies in BiH were presented, including the company ArcelorMittal Zenica. 

Award "Good for philanthropy" is traditionally organized by the Foundation "Mosaic" and the Agency MaSta, with the support of the European Union and the Balkan Trust for Democracy.

From a total of 43 nominated companies, 16 nominees were selected, with the aim of highlighting and recognizing those whose work and financial support significantly contributed to the development of the community, but also to encourage other companies and individuals to strengthen the community development with their contribution and successful examples and demonstrate that it is indeed "good to be good."

This year, a special focus was on the donations to the most vulnerable communities during and after the devastating floods in May this year, for which the company ArcelorMittal Zenica allocated 500.000 BAM.

"We are proud of our achievements to date and happy that the efforts made by ArcelorMittal Zenica in the local community and promotion of values of corporate social responsibility have been identified. Our long-term goal is to create an advanced and financially stable company, and a strong and productive community," said the CEO of ArcelorMittal Zenica Biju Nair.

ArcelorMittal Zenica's program of investment in the local community exists since 2006 and has so far completed over 200 projects from a number of areas: education, health, arts, culture and sports, and this year alone, the company has finalized its 50th project.
